6 month Contract to Hire

Sr. SQL Developer

SQL 2005 and 2008.

Looking for someone to handle complex data sets

Plus: Consolidated database servers (taking 23 database servers to 4)

Converting SQL 2000 to 2005 or 2008

Needs a strong SQL developer with some administration skills

Experience with Microsoft stack is required (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS with focus on SSIS)

DTS packages (most have already been converted to SSIS)

Approx 160 -200 gigabite database

Aptitude and attitude are huge

They are looking for a Sr. SQL DBA with strong technical and management experience. This person will oversee 3-4 DBAs and report to the CIO and VP of Apps.

Leadership role is a bonus potential

BizTalk and SQL Server skills - 3 months contract to hire

**There's more of a focus on the Biztalk piece than the ETL piece and the HL7/healthcare experience is not a "must have" either.

Special Requirements

Demonstrated skill and expert programming knowledge using Microsoft DTS/SSIS technologies to develop ETL applications; minimum of 5 years experience.
Demonstrated skill and ability in the development of database interface systems.
Demonstrated BizTalk experience with the Microsoft HIPAA accelerator or the HL7 accelerator desired. Minimum of 3 years work experience or Microsoft BizTalk certification w/ (1) year of experience.
Demonstrated skill and ability in interfacing programmatically with a variety of enterprise systems.

Candidates will contribute as an ETL team lead in the Data Management Group (DMG) responsible for design, development, and implementation of interfaces and conversions for the Medicaid Management Information System in Idaho.

ETL team duties include requirements validation, code development, source control, unit testing, and version deployment scripting. SQL and stored procedure expertise in a RDBMS environment required, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 T-SQL desired. ETL development expertise with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services desired.

Team lead duties include working with a project manager to prioritize task assignments, progress tracking, and ensuring timely, yet accurate delivery, Mentorship acumen required. Full life cycle development experience required. Configuration and release management experience highly desired. Health information management experience highly desired. Excellent written and oral communication required. Some travel may be required (25% maximum).

SSIS Developer

SSIS Developer

-SSIS and SQL development as well as Maintenance and Support
-Maintains information policies and procedures to support current and future data information needs.
-Ensures proper data definitions, ownership, use and integrity of data.
-Facilitates the identification of potential gaps in available data and collaborates with business areas to determine best means for acquiring the data needed.
-Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
-Collaborates with IT resources and data owners to define business objectives and definitions for databases including business rules, sources, purge archive criteria, and reload schedule.

Skills Required:
-STRONG SKILLS IN SSIS AND SQL are the most important!
-Knows ins and outs and techniques of SSIS and SQL
-Knows stored procedures, functions, and data modeling
-Someone who is an expert at process and will ask questions if design flaws exist
**Strong UNIT TESTING to unit test their work before it goes to Change management for system testing
-Extensive experience with SQL Server 2005 T-SQL and stored procedures required. (6 years)
-Experience with Microsoft SSIS required. (2 - 3 years)

-Requires BA/BS in related field and 6-8 years experience in data analysis, data modeling, and working with automated data warehouse systems, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
-Experience with programming languages and various statistical programs in addition to general knowledge of major components of managed care operations required.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving and PC skills required.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Preferred Skills:
-Experience with large Data Warehouses and Data Marts preferred.

MySQL DBA/Architect

I was reaching out in hopes that there was some outside chance you knew of any MySQL DBA/Architects that might be looking for a new gig. I know it is in a different technology space than your background but I was hoping for more of a Sr. Level Architect resource birds of a feather might flock together type connection!

In any event, the opportunity is in Indy and projected to go for about 12-18 months and could even convert should the opportunity fit everyones needs. I can certainly provide additional info should you think of anyone and would welcome any assistance. They are looking to move fairly quickly, we had a candidate that they were about to pull the trigger on but accepted another opportunity yesterday.

SQL Server DBA:

The SQL Server DBA is responsible for supporting the SQL Server 2005 and 2008 databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. Typical tasks include:
1)   Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
2)   Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
3)   Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
4)   Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
5)   Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases.
6)   Train users and answer questions.
7)   Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters, using manuals and calculator.
8)   Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.
9)   Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures and using pen, template or computer software.
10) Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.
11) Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
12) Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database.
13) Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
14) Select and enter codes to monitor database performance and to create production database.
15) Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management.
16) Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
17) Review workflow charts developed by programmer analyst to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records.
18) Revise company definition of data as defined in data dictionary.
