&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3"&gt;SQL Server 2005 introduces a number of new features, one of which is Database Mirroring. This is the 2nd out of the box technology from Microsoft for SQL Server that allows native configuration of a Hot Standby Server. It has a completely different configuration than its cousin SQL Clustering and opens up a whole host of secondary possibilities for the resourceful DBA.
